3 Primary Schools in 7 years starting with the wonderful Mrs Adams and Miss Pearce-Bailey at Mells First School via Mrs Bonner at ISZL in Switzerland 🇨🇭and ending with the lovely Miss Painter at the brilliant Chewton Mendip Primary School. We’ve come a long way and T is a funny, intelligent, beautiful young girl (not biased at all!). Thank you to the amazing teachers who have helped to shape and develop this young lady. We couldn’t do it without you! For now, onwards to the next chapter. Secondary School 🙀

Quilt. Done.
I am definitely not a quilter hats off to those who have the patience, attention to detail and focus who are! Quilting is SO different to sewing clothes - and this was a fairly straightforward patchwork!
T decided she’d like to make a quilt and so spotting the opportunity to use up some old fabric remnants from the stash I agreed to help her. Oh. My. We started at half term - 7 weeks ago - we have just finished. It looks great, T has been accurate and neat (although the seams don’t match up as we had to unpick the back from the front when we realised the wadding was on the outside not sandwiched in the middle. But. It is now done. So am I.

Cat on a wobbly thin fence - not quite same ring to it but still as entertaining! Coconut had his eye on a little mouse when I distracted him and happily little mouse didn’t end up for tea! .

Have been really nervous about undertaking this project but today it began... making a mosaic mural with the year 6 class at Chewton Mendip Primary School!
Year 6 kids always leave a gift for the school as a thank you for their time there. So this year the Year 6 are revamping the Quiet Garden which is quiet for all the wrong reasons. Parents have contributed to the costs and we have sold ice lollies after school on a Friday for extra cash. So far the amazing Warthog Engineering designed and created a stainless steel bench which has been positioned around a tree. Next we have invested in new plants which are low maintenance, provide year round colour and attracted local pollinators, birds and butterflies.
Finally we are decorating a low wall with a mosaic mural. The brilliant Hellards have donated a load of tiles, adhesive and grout and today we started laying out our design featuring dragonflies. .
